Prof. Smethurst will give a lecture on Takahashi Korekiyo at I-Hounse on June 20th

Entitled “the Historical Legacy of Takahashi Korekiyo (高橋是清): A Liberal Visionary in the Early 20th Century”(日本語タイトル:高橋是清:「日本のケインズ」と呼ばれた 偉大なリベラリスト), Professor Richard Smethurst of the University of Pittsburgh will give a lecture at the International House of Japan (I-House) at Roppongi on Friday, June 20th.

Professor Smethurst is a historian who focus on Japanese economic history and he has studied 15 years on Takahashi Korekiyo. He published From Foot Soldier to Finance Minister: Takahashi Korekiyo, Japan’s Keynes from Harvard University Press last year and 東洋経済新報社will publish Japanese translation this year.
