Japan’s Ministry of Education will start digitizing 300,000 Japanese early prints

Japan’s Ministry of Education released the new plan, which will start digitizing 300,000 Japanese early prints listed in the National Institute of Japanese Literature (NIJL)’s Union Catalog of Early Japanese Books Database. The project will start from 2013 for the following 10 years. It is a collaboration among the NIJL and 20 other universities.
